The Hideaway Reviews

Tracey
The Hideaway is in a great location to get about in the Brighton & Hove area. It was perfect that we could leave our cars securely parked and either walk or use public transport. We very much appreciated the thoughtfulness of Easter eggs and the birthday decorations for my Mums special day. Our only comment would be that the instructions for the smooth running of the house were not clear enough or even provided. The entertainment systems in particular presented issues with PIN numbers required to access anything. We are a multigenerational family and not even the tech savvy of us could make head nor tail of this. When no instructions could be found it left us baffled and disappointed. We would also agree with other reviews that a full bathroom which is not an ensuite would be a wonderful addition to The Hideaway.

The house is beautiful, all the rooms are large with so much space for all 8 of us to enjoy a short break near the sea. The rooms and kitchen were all wonderfully equipped. With the gym area and giant screen, the hot tub and sauna, pool table and table football, there was no shortage of things to do. The generous welcome hamper was much appreciated, even down to extra pods for the coffee machine. We all appreciated the beautiful garden too. Having only ensuite showers was just a slight inconvenience for those not sleeping in one of the ensuites, but all had access to the downstairs toilet and wash room. Really enjoyed the little balcony with the sun on it a lot of the day. The location was perfect true to it's name, it was hidden away, and just a short walk down to the nearby shops and sea front. All in all we had a wonderful stay and would certainly recommend this beautiful home. Thank you.
What a great house with superb facilities! We had a wonderful few days in Brighton and enjoyed all this great house had to offer. Beautifully appointed with everything you could want we were a faily from 2 88 years and all generations were catered for.
A lovely, comfortable, property in a great location. Overall, the facilities were great. The only thing we would change is for there to be a standalone toilet upstairs to cater for the two bedrooms without ensuites. A bit more crockery and glassware would also have been appreciated for our full house, as well as some child friendly table and drinkware.

We all thoroughly enjoyed staying in this property there were 6 of us encompassing 4 generations . The property was spotlessly clean and very well equipped throughout. We particularly enjoyed the objects scattered throughout the house and in the garden. My sevenyearold great granddaughter just adored the piano. The garden was so pretty and everyone loved the sauna and hot tub. The games room and the gym were a bonus. It would be difficult to be bored in this house . There is enough room in the drive for at least four large cars. There are 5 bedrooms with comfortable beds,3 of which are en suite. One of the bedrooms has a bath, another has a walkin shower and the third has just a toilet. There is no communalshared bathroom in the house. This did not present us with a problem but I think it is something to be aware of.
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. If we ever visit Brighton again, we will surely be returning. The hot tub, sauna, cinena room and golfing activities were throughly enjoyed. The welcome basket was greatly appreciated and a wonderful touch. Unsure if there is one, but clothing horse would be very convenient especially for wet swimwear and towels. Take care
I couldnt fault our stay at the Hideaway. The property was clean and exactly as advertised. The location is excellent, only a short walk to all the amenities. Any questions were answered promptly and personably. We hope to be going back in the future.
Is lovely place and very well equipt. We all had great stay. My only reserve is that it would be nice if there was a communal bathshower upstairs, rather than sharing with the en suites.
We had a fantastic Christmas Holiday as we opened the front door the Christmas tree in the hall way with the two Father Christmas's either side of the tree got the grandchildren very excited and the Hamper in the Kitchen was a nice touch. All the facilities in the house were great and the decor gave the house a lovely warm feeling. Would recomend this property for a family holiday as it is located near the beach and the all the attractions of the area.
Lovely holiday and a lovely house in a great location. Nice restaurants nearby and its only a 5 minute walk to the sea front.
While well appointed with the pool room and sky sports useful given the bad weather, our stay was thoroughly disappointing. The property was not clean, to the standard you would expect from a holiday let, and is overly dominated by the owners style and very old decor. There was a rusty, open razor blade left by the sink, and my son had a long pin lodged in his foot from the living room carpet within minutes. We spent the first night cleaning which is not a fair exchange of value for the hefty price tag. The fridge was dirty, there were cob webs everywhere. The toilets were soiled with hair and worse and the cheap towelling needed to have its tags removed. We had concerns that the hot tub did not appear to have had its chemicals added it distinctly felt like fresh water. This might not all be the owners fault. As a new property they should have been better served by Sykes in terms of advice of deep cleans and decor, rather than carefully constructing photos which distract from the problems at The Hideaway. I have given extensive feedback including photos, and for transparency received a moderate in my opinion insufficient rebate, but future potential l bookings should get some commitments from Sykes that previously raised concerns have all been addressed, as this is not a 5tick property based on our experience including users as a very happy user of Sykes cottages, without complaint.
