Coombe Place House Reviews

Amanda
The house is beautiful, we couldn't have asked for anything more.
Elizabeth
We had a wonderful stay at Combe Place House for my husbands 50th birthday. The house was beautiful both inside and out with plenty of space for our party of 13 and our dog! We particularly enjoyed the garden given that we had beautiful weather, and it was great to be able to fit everyone round the dining table. The hot tub was a big hit and there was excellent response times from the owners who were able to help with the minor issues we had. Thanks again for a fabulous stay.
Hilary
A very comfortable well equipped house in a lovely location. The hot tub was a bonus. Would definitely recommend.
What a wonderful house! It is even better than it looks in the photos. We booked Coombe Place House for a long weekend to celebrate my motherinlaw's 70th birthday. We were 10 adults, 5 children with 2 dogs and the house still felt very spacious. The owner Louise was very helpful and responsive to our questions before arrival. The house is perfect for a large group celebration, there was everything you could possibly need loads of crockery, glasses, ice machine, potspans and vases of every shape and size! Really lovely welcome pack left for us as well. The gardens are beautiful and the view across the fields from the terrace is so peaceful. The hot tub was very much enjoyed. It's a 1015 minute walk into the nearby village and we'd recommend the pub by the river delicious pizza! It was a wonderful weekend and we're already looking for an excuse to go back!
Joanna
Beautiful home in a wonderful location with everything we needed.
We absolutely loved our stay at Coombe Place House. It was in a beautiful part of the countryside. We stayed for Xmas and before we arrived I was worried it would not have all the amenities to make a great Xmas but I need not of worried. Its a really spacious and comfortable home it had everything we needed. If I was to give any constructive feedback a bit more instructions on disposing rubbish and recycling also some more outdoor lights. Coombe Place House gave our family one of the best Christmass.
Claire
Easy to book and pay. Lovely clean house. Straightforward to find and really warm on our arrival. Plenty of space for 9 friends. The owner sent several messages and responded very quickly to ours. We would love to stay again.
We had a brilliant time in the house, such a wonderful house, so big, bright, well equipped, we were a party of 10, celebrating my wife's 60th birthday, from start to finish we filled the house with laughter, it felt like home, we were all very sad to leave on the Friday morning. Unfortunately you had a problem with the 2 open fires and therfore we were unable to use the fires, this was sad as we booked the house because of the fires..!! Nobody came back to us to advise what the situation was with the fires, we were happy for the men to come and clean them, but we heard nothing more from you! Never the less the house was still wonderful and we would love to return for anothe happy stay! Barry Ballard
Had a perfect celebratory weekend at Coombe Place House. Everyone had a fantastic time which was largely due to the quality and facilities of the house. Already looking at a potential return. Thank you to Louise who responded instantly to any questions we might have had. Great walks right from your doorstep and two very good pubs Bucks Head , Shoe Inn a short walking distance away.
A great house for a large gathering. Comfortable lounges and bedrooms. Just a shame the kitchen is a bit small for gathering as a group. Lovely country views and hot tub. Good pubs and walks close by.
A great relaxing house for our large family group. Our two dogs loved the garden and the little ones enjoyed seeing the horses every day. Lovely country walks from the house and lots of pubs nearby for relaxing lunches.

It had so much room it made it comfortable for everyone. I couldnt believe how clean it was throughout the property, Ive never experienced a holiday rental so clean. We all enjoyed the hot tub as well. We had everything we needed for the weekend. And I would definitely recommend this property.

Its really well placed for Portsmouthsouthamptonwinchester and there are plenty of walks from the front door. The owners and Jan were really lovely we had a couple of minor issues which were sorted out straight away. I would definitely book to stay here again, it was just what we needed.

Tracey
We had the most wonderful weekend, plenty of room for us all, a true home from home in a beautiful setting, would highly recommend.
From the friendly welcome from the housekeeper, to stepping into the impressive country home, we had the most amazing stay. The vast property was stylishly appointed, spotlessly clean and perfect for our family group stay. We're already looking for another time we can all get together, to share cosy nights in front of the fire, play board games and enjoy meals around a huge dining table. The location was superb, plenty of walks across the fields, especially to the local pub and the surrounding villagestowns are full of speciality shops and great coffee houses. The hot tub and swing ball tennis were great fun too. The views across the fields and peacefulno traffic location made this a real gem of a holiday choice. Thank you for excellent communication and this is a highly recommended choice for anyone.
Lesley
We had a wonderful stay. Such a lovely house to celebrate a 60th birthday with friends. The house provided every thing we needed. Lots of space and comfortable rooms. A couple of the smaller rooms had no mirrors, which would have be helpful The views were amazing and we all enjoyed a dip in the hot tub. Thank you and we have already booked to return next year.
Tracey
We had a wonderful week at Coombe place house. It's a beautiful house and very comfortable with lovely furniture. The views from the house are stunning. There is plenty of space for everyone. Would definitely recommend and return.
Rosanna
The house and location were both absolutely incredible. The house was so clean, well presented and comfortable and had everything we needed a group of 11 grown ups and kids ranging from 5 6 months, as well as a dog!. All the rooms were great sizes and the beds were very comfortable. The living rooms were gorgeous, light and airy. There was so much space to celebrate together and also space to relax. At night it was so peaceful no light pollution and just the sound of the owls. We can't wait to come back we've been doing these trips for 12 years since we graduated university together and this was our favourite house so far!
Andrew
Coombe Place House exceeded our expectations. It is just as described and illustrated, very spacious, impressive and well furnished. Everything is good quality and in good condition. Our family party of 14 were very comfortable and had a great weekend. The location and scenery is wonderful.
This a stunning property with amazing views. Lots of facilities such as hot tub, bbq, outside seating, games, lots of books the owners really like their books!... you shouldn't get bored. There are 8 bedrooms of which one is a twin and one is a single. 6 bedrooms are double. The master suite is massive with a massive walk in dressing roomen suite. In addition to the en suite upstairs you have one main bathroom, a second bathroom with a shower cubicle and an extra separate WC. This was a weekend away for 9 guys and we had no problems. The kitchen is of decent size and there are more than enough pots, pans, cooking trays, cutlery, glasses, etc. You don't need to bring anything. There is an electric hob and a large free standing gas cooker. The fridge freezer is an american double door one with an ice maker and water dispenser so no need to buy ice. The TV room downstairs is Freeview so if you want to login to your Sky then bring a laptop and HDMI. The view from the rear of the property is breathtaking as you can only see countryside with hills. Be mindful this is an old property so it has old doors and old windows that don't have good latches. However, the inside is clean and well kept. Nearby there are plenty of walking routes. We ordered food from Bishops Waltham on one night which was delivered fine and second night we had a private chef who had no issues preparing our meal with the facilities provided. One bit of feedback for the owners, please put some lights at the front and rear of the property. There are none so at night it is pitch black. If you go outside you need to use your phone light at night. Wonderful stay at Coombe Place House and we will look to come back here.
Heather
Absolutely fabulous house in a wonderful setting. Exceptionally clean and with an incredibly well stocked kitchen we were only 5 people and 3 dogs but you could easily cater for a special occasion for 16 with everything that is provided! The house is beautifully presented but homely enough that we still felt relaxed about the dogs being with us. Janette the housekeeper was so helpful and a font of local knowledge. We would return in a heartbeat!
